You didn't know my name
yet, you fought just the same.

You were on the frontline
endangering your life for mine.

You were courageous and brave.
Your life, for my freedom, you gave.

You were there—you heeded the call.
You gave so much—you gave it all.

The price of freedom is not free.
Your courage paid the price for me.

In God's arms you now rest.
You were America's very best.
